DOLLY PARTON
Her Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge is the most-visited attraction in the state. She recorded her latest album, "Halos & Horns," at BPM Studios in Knoxville. In September, Gov. Don Sundquist appointed her Tennessee's ambassador for film and music.
After she found out News-Sentinel readers voted her Best Ambassador for East Tennessee, as well as naming her theme park Best Attraction and a runner-up for Best Place to Take Kids, Dolly wrote us a letter to say:
"When you love your home state as much as I do, it's easy to be an ambassador. To have Dollywood voted as best attraction and (a) best place to take kids makes me proud. I guess I'll just keep on inviting folks to visit."
Runners-up: Pat Summit, Bill Williams
