BAKER-PETERS JAZZ CLUB
9000 Kingston Pike
Knoxville has a lot of history. Some of it is famous outside the hills of Tennessee, like writer James Agee or the World's Fair. But Knoxville also has history that, while not quite so famous, is just as interesting.
Take the Baker-Peters home. The mansion, built in 1840, was a hospital for Confederate soldiers in the Civil War. It was the scene of a murder. It's been a bar and restaurant. Now it's a popular jazz club.
Serving up regular shows by performers including Boling, Brown & Holloway, and the Larry Vincent Group, as well as a menu with scrumptious offerings such as blackened duck breast and Thai-style filet mignon, Baker-Peters will go down in history as a great night on the town.
