But most East Tennesseans really like their twilight visits to Krystal. Maybe, like a ship sailing toward a beacon to find a friendly port, we're drawn out of the black night by the glow of that happy red, yellow and white sign.

Or maybe, like an AM station in Tijuana, the siren's call of "Fresh. Hot. Small. Square." travels farther on the night air.

It's a mystery. All we really know is that tiny, square hamburgers just seem to make more sense during the hours when the things that go bump come out to play.
