BAKER-PETERS JAZZ CLUB

9000 Kingston Pike

The historic, 161-year-old Baker-Peters House has seen it all. It's seen the tromping feet of the Confederate soldiers who used the house as a makeshift hospital. It's seen a fierce custody battle involving a gas station and numerous angry citizens. Some say it's even seen a ghost.

These days the mansion is also the site of some great listening as a jazz nightclub.

All week long the sounds of musicians such as Tommy Santelli, the Chris Hollar Group, the Larry Vincent Trio, and Boling, Brown and Holloway spice up the evening. There's also some great food, including lobster bisque, lamb chops, and roasted duck and risotto.

The sweet smell of history dripping from the mansion's walls is what brings it all home. And what brings us all back again.
