KNOXVILLE MUSEUM OF ART
1050 World's Fair Park
Among offerings at the museum this year have been exhibits by two of the 20th century's most celebrated artists -- William Glackens and Andy Warhol.
Plus, we've seen an impressive overview of classic American illustrators, a quilt exhibit that explored "The Roots of Racism," paintings by Knoxville-born Impressionist Catherine Wiley, and glimpses into the museum's permanent collection of contemporary art.
But all the artistry at the KMA isn't on its walls. The museum's Great Hall is home to the Knoxville Symphony Chamber Players concert series and the jazz series "Alive After Five." The KMA plays hosts to community cultural events, such as the opening festivities of the Kuumba Festival and the museum's own "Family Day" activities. Lectures and a film series are regular events.
That's about as much culture as you can pack into a joint.
